Your Consultant

Professional...Experienced... Dedicated

HELLO! I’m Elaine Dixson, principal of Key Concepts Ltd. and primary provider of the services offered by the company. Are you looking for ways to create the ‘big picture’ out of all the little pieces? When you need to chart the way for people, structure, and processes, good communication is essential – and I can help.

My expertise is in analyzing internal and external communication needs to achieve organizational objectives, because I’m a big-picture person, too. My special ability is to see the points of linkage between day-to-day tasks and the larger strategic outcomes. I can provide guidance in the development of outcome-oriented policies and processes, and refinement of existing practices. I can provide support through training, coaching, or mentoring as new practices are implemented. Wherever your organization is headed, I can help you get there!

Professional and Academic Experience...

I have worked as a public relations practitioner in both the public and private sector, and have taught public relations at the post-secondary level for nearly 20 years. In addition, I live the commitment to life-long learning. Through formal post-graduate study and on-going self-study, I have a strong knowledge base in the areas of organizational development and change that complements my own experience. I view my consulting assignments as additional opportunities to both gain and contribute new knowledge.

I believe that when organizational communication is at its best, it is a two-way process that facilitates mutual understanding. In this way, it is an educative function, and it is one in which every member of the organization participates. This perspective is what motivates me to encourage people in every part of the organization to become skilled communicators. As a communication professional myself, I can help establish communication functions, or maximize the value of existing departments by helping practitioners become leaders of people and agents of change.

Accredited...

I am accredited by both the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and am a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) as well.

An abbreviated version of my resume follows.
